I have lived in Maroondah for my entire adult life, and in that time I’ve had two beautiful kids who go to primary school in the area. My career in technology has taken me to all different places in the world, and the best feeling I get is when I get to come home to my kids, my family and the Barngeong community.
I am so proud to call Maroondah my home. I am inspired by the array of community groups and volunteer organisations that make Barngeong such an inclusive place to call home.
It all started in 1986 where I was born into a working-class family living in Nunawading. I was taught at a very early age the importance of hard work, dedication to your family and the significance of community.
I was educated through the public system, graduating from Blackburn High in 2004. We purchased our first house in Maroondah in 2007 and my family continues to live in and around the Maroondah area today.
My dedication to the importance of community stems from a fundamental understanding that the strength of any society lies in its ability to support and uplift all its members.
Guided by this foundational principle, I make it a priority to give back to the community that has given my family and I so much. I have held various positions in different community groups, most recently as Deputy Chair of the Yarrunga Community Centre Committee of Governance.
I believe in cultivating an environment where inclusivity is not just a buzzword but a guiding principle, ensuring that every individual feels a sense of belonging and has equal access to opportunities. By prioritising community-driven initiatives, I seek to build bridges between different groups, encouraging dialogue, understanding, and cooperation that can lead to sustainable and holistic development for the benefit of all.
